Goodness
Time seems to be passing in fits and starts.
This weekend the Pickle and I decided to check out some garage sales in the area. Saturday morning I watched the weather channel, looked at the sky, back to the weather channel. With it stating 40% chance of rain and a grey sky I decided to risk it and walk down to the farmers market. As expected we got caught about half way there in a downpour. I stood with the umbrella over the stroller, under a tree waiting for it to let up. Just as it stopped a nice guy hollered from his upstairs window that we were welcome to come in or sit on the porch.
We continued on down to the local farmers market. The Pickle got a bag of popcorn, which he loved and we got some corn and cucumbers. On our walk home we hit the garage sales. I am having a kick me moment when I think about the large metal Tonka trucks for $1.00 and $6.00 that I passed by because I didn't want to figure out how to get them home. Other than that I was rather disappointed to come up to a sale advertised as multi-family and huge, to find 3 tables lined with cassette tapes and used shoes. I guess huge means something different to me. I did find 2 shelves that I plan on putting up in the kitchen to store the spices. I sanded them and painted them off white to "match"... And I say "match" because nothing in the kitchen actually matches. I am still living with the previous owners curtains and have just about decided to paint. I have put it off and put it off thinking that we were going to re do the kitchen eventually and didn't want to worry about it until then. But I don't see us re-doing it in the next year, and need to make it my own.
I have started to get organized in the house. I still can't get rid of my craft supplies, but I have started to put some of it away. I asked for a label maker for my birthday from my MIL. Hopefully this will help with the organization going on.
I have started on some felt animal puzzles. My hope is to get them in a craft shop where my mom and I will have a table.
I have been watching my friends first grader two days this past week. We have had a blast. Tuesday I walked him to the library, which was a bit long and we won't do again. Thursday we spent the day doing treasure hunts. The best was when he would make them for me and I would have to decipher clues that said things like "Go to the pit" Ummmm we don't have a pit "the POT!" Oh... Right pot. I am watching him tomorrow and have plans for group paintings. Thursday will be the last day and we will be doing some tie dying. I am excited and have a ton of shirts (well... 5) to dye for all the cousins.
I have posted some fusible webbing for sale on e-bay and etsy. I am pleased with my first buyer on e-bay and it has opened a new window for me.
